City budget

The City of Cavalier prepares a budget annually following a standard budget development process. This process includes an update of revenue projections by the city auditor that is based on historical trends and changes in our resources. Then, the city auditor meets with department heads to discuss the details of each departmental requests for the upcoming year. Following these meetings, a draft budget is prepared based on the overall needs of the city. The city councils holds a public hearing in the fall before the final budget is approved.
