  8. Veteran’s Day (November 11)
  9. Thanksgiving Day (fourth Thursday in November)
  10. Friday after Thanksgiving with approval
  11. ½ Day Christmas Eve (December 24 if it falls on a weekday)
  12. Christmas Day (December 25)
  13. ½ Day New Year’s Eve (December 31)
If garbage pick up day lands on a holiday, your garbage will be picked up the following business day.

Acceptable items to dispose of at transfer station are as follows:

• Household garbage goes inside the building in the pit

• Paint cans – paint must be dried up with kitty litter or sand; place dried up paint can on floor between garage doors in the transfer station

• Computer monitors or TVs – there is a separate fee for these items. $20 each payable at the City Administration office before disposal. You will get a sticker to put on the device. Once you obtain a sticker, the device can be placed on the floor between the garage doors at the Transfer Station.

• We do NOT accept tires or cement.

• There are bins for different commodities such as furniture, scrap metal, wood & pallet, and inert.

Inert waste includes bricks, plaster, dry wall, ceramics, plastic, siding, insulation, asphalt or wood shingles, glass, asphalt or portland ceramic concrete, carpets, draperies, clothing, and clean-burn residue.

This facility is monitored by video surveillance.
